rather than start a new thread, I thought I;d bump this one with some observations after a couple hundred miles:
1) Car was built with no obvious defects; there is no reason yet to return to the dealer. Got plenty of time for those issues to appear, though.
2) I know all about octane and how it effects EFI engines. I can see no reason to run 93 Octane in this car with a stock tune (no pinging at all). If anyone has a factual reason why I should, let me know.
3) The Ford drive by wire SUCKS. The GM LS6 throttle response is FAR superior.
4) Car runs and rides great. I hate the mechanical seatback controls, but such is life.

Mine was built the same week. 5/22/06 Red Fire GT convertible. I thought the line in Mad Max went something like "Thats one of the last of the great V8's".
I've always had a thing for white mustangs. I almost went that way for the order. You have a very nice looking GT.

Nice car indeed. Okay, when can we order a 2007 GT? And has anyone seen where I can check out a picture of the new "Alloy Gray" paint? I liked the old Mineral Gray and was ticked when they cancelled it for 2006. Yep, I'm an oddball I guess. [8D]
