Missing undercoat at top left rear shock..???
Anybody else missing any ( black ) undercoat at the top of your left side rear shock..??
the only reason I noticed it was because I was looking to see why my muffler on the left side
is sticking out of the bumper more than the right side.. ?? about 2" ( give or take )
something seems wrong/weird to me on my baby..
thanks in advance..

LOL the dealer told me that Ford doesn't put undercoating on their cars anymore..."and thats why you need undercoating for a small fee" lol..I didn't get the tar job...but I'll check to see if my shock areas are covered.

RE: Missing undercoat at top left rear shock..???
over at themustangsource.com in the 'issues' forum thread, I put one up last december called 'you might want to look under your car'. mine was missing undercoat on passenger side- but that wasnt what really worried me...the little flap in front of the rear tires does worry me bad- BOTH sides of mine were open on top- about a 1/4" crescent shaped opening that goes right down in between the inner and outer rockers- I would bet the rear rocker areas will be the first spots on the new mustangs to start rusting- about half the cars Ive seen were open on one side, only saw one of 5 at cleveland auto show that were sealed on both sides- the other 4 there were all open just on passenger side. I filled top of mine with 3M seam sealer, and put rollon bedliner over the wheelwells(I drive on dry-yet salt dusty- winter days too). I'll see If I can find a link/pics...

Thanks ford4v429
your second pic. is very close to what I am talking about.. except mine is more straight forward looking.. ( you can see it looking straight and not need
a lift of jack to see where they missed with the undercoat )
thanks again to all..
a BIG THANKS to ford4v429

youre welcome- I just noticed all the other pics were deleted from that thread when they migrated the forum over...had some 'naked' mustang pics in there too- I pulled the fenders/rocker covers/door panels and did the bedliner thing all over the place.
right behind the headlights in the upper frame(cant really see with fenders on) theres a forward opening hole that looked like it would suck in a lot of roadspray too- I made a little plastic diverter and glued it on- like a rearward hoodscoop- to deflect water and whatnot from entering the upper(then lower) frame...left it open like a halfinch so it can still breathe, but no direct spray can blow in on the highway...
