That may have had Shelby lettering on it but there ws no way an Omni would ever be a true Shelby. I would have trouble reffering to that plastic and cardboard FWD POS as a real car never mind a Shelby. Those were dark times. Very dark indeed.

Yeah, I remember the first time I saw one on the street before they turned into trailer queens for collectors. Man those were the days and while I love the new Shelby it just won't get the same reaction from me when I see the frst one. The GT500KR was the thing of legend for years before I even saw one for real. With the Internet and instant communication the thrill just won't be the same...

I remember when I was 9 years old in 1972 and a friend of my Dad's had a white 1968 Shelby GT-500. I knew even at 9 yrs old it was a Shelby.
