Well, no one brings up the fact that after a few years the hybrids require battery change outs. Not that big a deal if you consider $3000 for a new set economical. They average about 85K mikes before a swap is needed. I'd rather by $3000 in gas and have a vehicle that actually has soul.

They are running hybrid taxis in some citys, and are not replacing batteries with mileage at the 100-150K mark.

My favorite...
"the prius tops out at 108... yeah.. i know.. it does 107 easy.. does 108 easy.. and you still get 15mpg... but that's it.. you can't go faster than 108.. trust me.. i tried when racing an M3 down a highway.. all downhill.. only reason he beat me ( i had low profiles on the car) is because he tops around 150."

More Mustang bashing:
While I haven't really truly raced my Prius (duh, it's not legal on city streets anyhow), I did have a bit of fun yesterday on my lunch hour.
I was sitting at a stoplight next to a new Mustang V6 convertible and the guy was gunning his engine and inching forward for the duration of the red light. As soon as the light turned green, I floored the Prius, got up to the 45mph speed limit very quickly, and glanced in my rearview at the Mustang I left behind. Yeah, that was fun! For the amount of noise that his car made, you'd think it would have gone faster than it did... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
