Warning to anyone who gets their car washed at a drive thru wash
I took my 05 for a wash a couple of weeks ago to one of those 'car spa' kind of places. I would love to wash it by hand, which I have done, but I live in an apartment. Kind of a pain to wash it there(after this though I'm taking my buckets up to a self service wash. I can't believe people actually wash their cars with those bristle brushes though *shudder*). Anyways, my driver side mirror snapped clean off and was hanging by the wire. The guy said they had the rollers set to their lowest setting, but that it had happened to another new mustang about a week before. Got a few minor scratches that buffed out and they replaced the mirror. Just thought I'd give yall a heads up. I mean, the mirrors do kinda stick out like huge dumbo ears.

I would never take my Stang through one of those stupid things. I have only twice taken my Stang through a touchless one and it actually did a half way reasonable job but it's still best to wash by hand.

The touchless ones do an ok job, but hand wash is obviously the best. As for the mirrors, they do stick out quite a bit, but man it is nice having the larger sized mirrors to help you see. I have the C-Scoops so have limited visibility and i would be lost without the dumbo mirrors. I tried to drive my Buick the other day and was apauled with how small the mirrors were.

I love the mirrors on my car too. Changing lanes in my previous car, a Mazda 6, was a crap shoot. The B pillar was next to my head so looking over my shoulder didn't help much. Those tiny mirrors were just awful. The visibility in my Mustang, even with the high beltline, is infinitely better than in the Mazda.
Just chalk it up as a lesson learned. Brushless or by hand.

I go to a local brushless place, they do a decent job. On the quieter days they sick their whole cleaning army on my car and they make it all nice and shiny while I sit in the shade.

Yea it funny when I used to drive the company car (Taraus) there and get washed the girl at the counter never said a word to me. Now after driving my 05 you would think we are married.
