Default Hawk HPS Brake Pads

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=20225

Are those prices for pairs of pads, or individual pads? It seems a little pricey to spend 303.00 dollars on 4 pads if you ask me...thats how much all 4 of my iRotors were.
Anywhere with better pricing?

thanks

FWIW - I really like the fact that my wheels never seem to get dirty in 12.6k miles of driving. I absolutely believe in "STOP!" but I sure do like clean wheels.

My Yamaha FJR1300ABS always had clean wheels front and rear. Till I developed a fork leak which made new pads up front a good idea. Damn things are dirty.

My GMC runs now a pad from France. Rated well. Don't recall name. Wheels get dirty, but not as bad as some cars I see.

These pads will be the dirtiest (dustiest) pads you ever installed on your car. Prepare for alot of wheel cleanings.

The dustiness is a fair tradeoff for brakes that will work on demand. The stock pads are supposed to be ceramic but they are the worst ceramic pads I've had. It leads me to believe they are the half-assed ceramics that only have a ceramic coating between the friction material and the backing plate, not an actual ceramic friction compound. Everything about them screams organic or lowend semi-metallic.

I drove a Chevy Equinox the other day that had way better brakes, and it had drums in the rear.

I was surprised at how long it takes to stop out Stangs. It's like 170ft at 70mph.

I have the HPS pads on the front and rear of my 98 Cobra and there is VERY little dust from them, even under hard braking. I just put Hawk Ceramics on my 06 Supercharged Saleen to replace the really dirty Axxis pads that came from Saleen. I would say the Hawk Ceramics have about 80% less dust then the Axxis pads and the Ford pads that were on the rear. My car is white with white wheels and let me tell ya brake dust stands out BIG TIME on them. With the Axxis pads I could not drive the car 30 miles without them being black from dust. The Hawk pads you can hardly tell there is dust there untill you wash it and see the dust wash off..... All in all I like the HPS and the Ceramics. Both stop well and are very low dust. Make sure you bed them in properly, this keeps them from being squeaky and makes them stop like they should. I have noticed after proper bed in and some miles, both of these pads work real well.

Price seems about average for the pads from JEGS, but do they have them in stock?
When I went to get mine last month they were a little hard to find in stock.

Very good pads, but like mentioned, will sacrafice more brake dust.

HPS pads after 100+ miles on a 3.5 mile 21 turn road track
