I just jammed a screwdriver up the bottom of the factory unit and pried it off, just don't get to robust. I got my auto dim, compass, temp mirror from www.autoanything.com .

Good Luck!

... And at a good price. I went through one of the links and they were about $350 with auto dim, homelink, thermo and compass. Seems pricey?

I got one for my Mustang. The dealer installed. Ran the power wires down to the fuse box, lower passanger side. Dealer hooked wires to the Brake light fuse and one other. the Home Lite Web site has install and programing instuctions. I think Ford should offer the Homelite as an option, not just as an accessory. Both since I got it at the time of sale, in the contact, it is under the new car warrenty.

I got a donnelly off Ebay temp/compass/auto-dim...wired it to the fuse box in the passenger kick panel so it stays on till the door opens like the radio, etc. Temp sensor is in one of the lower "holes" in the bumper cover.

Installed a Ford Accessory/Gentex Mirror with Homelink and Compass this morning. As others have said, it ispretty easy. Factory mirror came off in ten seconds. small screwdriver to pull away and apair of soft taps with arubber mallet (Your results may vary. Past performance is no promise of future results. Don't try this at home. --insert your favorite warning here--). Total cost was about $125 with mirror on eBay from a Mich. Ford dealer, and two "add a fuse" from Autozone. It may be that mine is an older style, but it fits, it works, and it was a very reasonable cost. Dealer included harnass, and copy of Ford factory instructions.

After 4 months, mods include:
GT wheels/Pirelli tires
GT exhaust on right side
Raised passenger seat (both are heated leather with side air bags)
GT/IUP leather steering wheel
Fod/Gentex auto dimming mirror with Homelink & Compass.
