First boo-boo on my new 'Stang
Anyone know a good wheel repair company in NJ?
Was driving my '06 GT 'vert to a friend's house for his daughter's birthday party, when I had to swerve to avoid some bonehead who wasn't looking while they were backing out of a driveway. In the process of avoiding them, I ended up tapping the curb on the right hand side, and now have some curb rash on the edge of my right front 18" polished aluminum bullit. It's not so bad that you'd notice it right away, but enough that it's got me po'ed. Short of replacing the entire wheel, has anyone had any luck getting a polished aluminum wheel repaired? I'm debating just leaving it alone, knowing it's likely the wheel will end up with more scuffs later on. I'm also considering buying one replacement wheel, and putting it on the car while I have the damaged one refinished. Once fixed, the extra one will be stored away until another wheel gets scuffed and needs fixing.
Someone I know suggested a place in Bath, PA called Wheel Collision ... which is about 90 minutes from me ... but I don't want to make that trip without references.
Any suggestions?

Damn, that sucks Sean. I have the 18" polished wheels too and I live in constant fear of banging them up. I know its bound to happen eventually.
Do you have the "rim guard" tires? I'm curious as to whether they actually work.

The bad thing about swerving to miss those idiots... if you would have hit someone else, it would have been partially your fault for being out of your lane. The very same thing happened to me when I was 17 and this idiot in a shiny new Corvette must have decided that he had the right of way. Needless to say, as I was driving down the street, he pulled right out in front of me. To the left of me was a van with three kids in the backseat and to the right of me was a huge curb. Well, long story short, I ran right into him at about 35 mph and called it a day. His insurance company paid for everything - including a perfect new shiny paint job of my very own. The bad thing is that I was without my car for a couple weeks. He is just lucky that I was paying attention and didnt slam into him at 60 mph.

If you look on ebay, you can find some of those wheels prety cheap, but most of them are sold in sets of four. I have head of people getting their wheel resmoothed on the edge, but I don't know where they had it done.
