O no, I totally agree... thats actually first thing I did to my car when I got it was replace the antenna with a 14" shorty... didnt complain about it just fixed it to my liking. No need to b1tch about something so easily fixable... Ya I wonder why they put that massive thing on it but Im sure they realize its big and if they could have made it shorter they probably would have.. although they might do it just because they have always put big antennas on Mustang.. who knows why they do it, they just do. So if you dont like it just fix it.

Yes there is, take it to a body shop and have them shave it like they would door handles or tailgate latches and emblems. You can stick the antennea under teh A/C cowling if memory serves me correctly.

One reason they are not in the back glass is because they offer a vert. Too costly to have two antenna options, like fenders with the holes and fenders w/o. ...aint gonna happen at Ford.

I dropped mine down to a 14" shorty right off the bat, just looks a bunch nicer. In town FM hasn't been an issue but I doubt I've listened to more than 30 minutes of it in the month and a bit I've owned the car. CD and XM for me.

Well I went the cheap way and just took the dammm thing off, and filled the hole with this piece of i duno what it is but it fits and can be taken out easily. The antenna sits in my trunk, If I need it I screw it in, easy as that. I never listen to the radio anyways, to many commercials. Sirius and Cd's are all I listen to, so for me it was a good quick easy and FREE fix.

Yeah if I get sirius, I might do something close to what you did... maybe take the whole assembly off all together and have the hole patched.
