I think I'm one of the few ppl who actually like it..can't explain it either...even my wife hates it

Is there a way to patch the hole and get rid of the entire assembly alltogether?

Yeah sorry. I have a bit of a sore spot with people complaining about things that I consider really minor / non issues.

One reason they are not in the back glass is because they offer a vert. Too costly to have two antenna options, like fenders with the holes and fenders w/o. ...aint gonna happen at Ford.

I dropped mine down to a 14" shorty right off the bat, just looks a bunch nicer. In town FM hasn't been an issue but I doubt I've listened to more than 30 minutes of it in the month and a bit I've owned the car. CD and XM for me.

Well I went the cheap way and just took the dammm thing off, and filled the hole with this piece of i duno what it is but it fits and can be taken out easily. The antenna sits in my trunk, If I need it I screw it in, easy as that. I never listen to the radio anyways, to many commercials. Sirius and Cd's are all I listen to, so for me it was a good quick easy and FREE fix.
