Default Car is at the Dealer today.

I know some of you have experienced similiar problems as me... I made a write up for the dealer as to what my problems are:

"
1st Oil Change… Use the good stuff (synthetic blend) 5w20. (2020 miles)

Intermittent clunk or knocking from suspension (loose feeling) when going over bumps or uneven roads at slower speeds, also squeaks on driver side over speed bumps, clunking mostly from passenger side front and sometimes elsewhere:
Check/Tighten if needed front and rear sway bar links. Could also be the upper strut mounts in front? Others with the same car have said “found that the source of my "clunk" was due to a loose nut on the endlink’s (Upper) connection to the struts.”

Engine making a tapping noise which sounds like an older engines valve tap… Doesn’t sound like the ‘ticking’ of the fuel injection system, rather more of a ‘tapping’. Most prominent at 1500 – 2000 RPM when at operating temp.

Check / Recalibrate speedometer (seems to be reading 5 – 6 MPH too high at speeds over 40MPH, faster speed = more inaccurate) I have compared to friends vehicles and many ‘your speed is’ radar devices found in many construction zones…

Feels like a driveline vibration at 60+ mph… Most prominent at 70mph (uncorrected mph) Driveshaft pretty clunky at low speeds: U joints? Balance driveshaft? Maybe just the engines vibration… but please check.

"

I will keep you posted as to what they do/say. The car has already been in once for the suspension clunking...

Wow. Your thread popped the air out of my baloon. I have a 07 GT now on order; it's really my first Ford product.

I'll be pissed if I have those kind of problems with a new 2,000 mile vehicle.

I can't believe this is typical. Is it?

Don't get upset... I love the car. I just wanted to get the bugs worked out, which I'm sure they fixed for the 2007's...

It is one of the sweetest cars I've driven... and I am still happy. Just wanted to get quirks fixed while its new...

I just got back from the dealership for a few things, I'm actually going to put up a thread about all of them so check it for further detail but yes I have the driveshaft issue and they refuse to acknowledge the problem even though it was vibrating the hell out of the car with the service guy in it. He claimed it was exhaust resonance from my aftermarket exhaust.

It is Day 3, and the car is still at the Dealer... (Dropped it off Weds Morning, it is now Friday) They must be really replacing some parts or something... I hope to get it back today... I will let you know what they did...

I have had 4 s197's, two 05's and two 06's, and the most serious problem was a broken adjustment handle for the passenger seat on one of the 06's..............these are solid cars..............built by men...........not perfect.....just REAL good.

Just got the call... "We drove the vehicle extensively, had it on the lift, found that the speedometer is only 3 MPH off, which is well within the range of normal, and no problems with driveline or suspension"

Oil was changed...

Bastards!

lol....

GET THAT IN WRITING...

Could come in handy the next time you get a 48 in a 45 ticket from some jerk cop.... or a 23 in a 20 zone!
