RE: did i get hosed?
LOL - I'm in the wrong business....
Cleaning the valves and combustion chamber is the equivalent to dumping a bottle of sea foam into the tank. How do you figure these parts get cleaned without engine disassembly? Also, 15k fuel filter changes are insane and a true waste of money. My guess is you paid for it, but they didn't change it. Recommended fuel filter change intervals
are 60k and 75k on some imports that go hundreds of thousands of miles.
If you figure they see a couple hundred people like you every week, they are making unreal amounts of money in dealer service departments... unbelievable.

All in all I don't think you made a mistake or got taken, that's not that much for peace of mind and a valid warranty. If you don't trust your dealership, why did you fork over $30K to buy the car in the first place (this goes for all that posted about being ripped off on service). I wonder how many that commented are certified mechanics or qualified to make the call as to what gets replaced/cleaned at what mileage. I admit, I'm no mechanic or automotive design engineer. That's why they have a maintenance schedule in the owners manual. I make it a point to follow it and take my car for service as needed. I've got two cars over 10 years old running like new, these replaced even older cars, must be doing something right. JMO

You got hosed, you don't need a new fuel filter at 15,000 mi.

RE: did i get hosed?
Even this is and old thread I'm going to add my .02. I would recommend
fuel filter replacement every 20,000 miles
air filter 10,000 or sooner(cheap insurance, I'm sure you guys know what dirt in the intake can do to an engine)
tire rotate every 6000
tire balance 20,000
induction and injector flush(not just dumping seafoam in the gas tank) 20,000
You paid almost $30,000 for your car and are willing to damage it because you don't want to spend a couple hundred that's not right, and with the cost of fuel these days you need to keep your car in top shape.
