Default 06 factory to dealer incentives?

Does anyone know if there is a rebate from the factory to the dealers to sell the 2006 stock? My deal fell through at one dealer and they told me they'd be loosing $500 in rebates by selling me an 07. I bet the rebate is a little better than that though.

Rebates on a new mustang? Thats funny.

Here in central Ohio, the price is what the sticker is and not a dollar less.

I live in central Ohio also. A dealer is giving me a gt for invoice. All I have to do is go and sign the papers.

I was able to talk the dealer down 5k on an 06 GT convertible about 2 months ago. In Louisiana for everyone to know, I have heard TX has even better deals.

GTlust,
Some dealers will deal and some will not. Just remember that on the Mustangs the dealer gets a 3% 'hold back" from the factory. This hold back check is the dealers and it based on MSRP of the vehicle sold NOT the selling price. So even buying at invoice price don't let them fool you and tell you different thay are making money. Yes it takes money for them to survive but it all depends on how many they have comming in added with how many there are on the lot. This time of year most dealers should be selling 06 Mustangs as close to invoce price and 07 close to MSRP. Do you qualify for X-Plan or B Plan through Ford? I guess I'm saying shop around. 05SDI

Don't know what rebates the dealer gets but there are none for Mustang GT buyers except possibly a $500 AQHA rebate. Somewhere around invoice works for everything 'stang wise except what we bought 2 days ago - Screaming Yellow GT stick V8 06 'vert. It was $800 above MSRP but is sooo cool! The "stick V8" was what screwed the price "up."

Make sure to go at the end of the month. They will be more willing to deal then. I believe they have to sell so many cars per month. There's a certain time of year that's optimal to buy also but i don't know when that is.

End of month, end of fiscal quarter, end of year (calendar and model year)

I hear the week before christmas is a good time to buy. No one is at the dealers so they are more willing to lower the price. I'm offered $25k on a 06 premium with only the interior upgrade option. They want $26,400, msrp is $27,500. I offered $25,700 as my final price. Counting holdback and subtracting destination fee that should still give them 5% profit assuming the car hasn't been sitting there for 4 months.

There are rebates from Ford for active duty military members. All you need to do is show them your Military ID Card and you will be receive the discount. Its just some special deal they made to support Soldiers during the Global War on Terrorism.
