Default new rear view mirror

I have seen the replacement rear view mirror from ford accessories with the built in compass, thermometer, and homelink (opens your garage door etc) on fords website. It costs almost 400 dollars for the full-featured version. I was sure that some aftermarket company sold one of these mirrors for our car for half that price, but I can't find one anywhere. Does anyone have any clue as to where I can get one of these mirrors that has all those features for cheap? Should I just install one of those cheesy add-ons to my original mirror instead (I dont like those, their ugly and have a wire showing, Id rather replace the whole mirror)? I wouldn't bother with getting just the compass, I would want all the features to make it worth replacing, at least the thermometer (costing $390-425).

Here are the original ford mirrors which can be found on http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com:

Part Number Part Name, MSRP
4L3Z-17700-A Mirrors, Electrochromic Compass w/HomelinkĀ®, W/O Temp. Display - $393.00

4L3Z-17700-B Mirrors, Electrochromic Compass w/HomelinkĀ®, w/Temp. Display - $425.97

F6AZ-17700-A Mirrors, Electrochromic Compass, w/o HomelinkĀ®, w/o Temp. Display - $234.22

XF2Z-17700-A Mirrors, Electrochromic Compass, w/o HomelinkĀ®, W/Temp. Display - $390.37

Default RE: new rear view mirror

There are similar mirrors on eBay for a lot less:

Don't quote me on this, but I seem to remember reading that the Ford mirrors are made by Gentex, so this may be the same one you'd get through Ford:

Default RE: new rear view mirror

wow, thanks, those mirrors from taiwan are exactly what I was expecting, like $70 for compass, temp, and autodimming. Installation does look a bit complicated though, having to run a wire somehow from the rear view all the way to the front bumper. Sounds almost impossible without expossing an ugly wire. Ill look more into it.
