my 5.0 felt faster

RE: my 5.0 felt faster
Then again the 'throttle by wire' the new car has doesn't help with the feeling of 'no bottom end torque'. A tuner will pay big dividends
in this department. Like anything, you gotta adjust your driving style for the car you drive. The new car is much more fun to drive at
8/10ths then the 5.0L was at 6/10ths. You gotta used the dial on the left to full use(tacho). I still don't understand how a car with 75 less HP with much taller(factory issued) gears(3.55 new vs 2.73-3.08 old) 'feels' faster, maybe you're not taking a peek at the speedo? I drive a 10,000lb step van at work and with a 6.0L GM V-8(it's an '05 with a GMC Yukon motor) it 'feels' much torquier
than my '05 GT, but it doesn't 'feel' faster. Maybe you mean 'quicker'? As in acceleration? Faster means how fast you're able to go,
not how quickly you accelerate................[sm=icon_ladiesman.gif]

RE: my 5.0 felt faster
I ran a 14.7 1/4 in my ex 89 GT, it was bone stock with a manual and 2.73s!! BTW that was with short shifting at 5000rpms. I drove the new one and it does feel somewhat (softer) the 5.0 is more ferocious since there's no damn computer bugs running in it's vains!!
