Default 07 Hood scoop questions

My 07 will be arriving in a few weeks and i decided to go with the GT appearance package. I was wondering if at a later time i decide that i don't like the smallish scoop that the package comes with if an aftermarket one like the Roush would use the same holes as the stock one. Thanks in advance for the replies.

I had the same thought, but realized two things.... a) that would make it way too easy, and b) I'm not that lucky.
My conclusion was that I'll see how I like the scoop and if it needs to be changed out, trust that the holes will be hidden under the new one and that filling/mending/plugging the holes should be fairly easy and not visible.

I agree with topless.....it would make too much sense to have a standard hood bolt pattern,.............but it schould be easy to cover the old holes with a larger scoop. I personally like the factory scoop,.....maybe it will grow on You.[8D]

does anyone have a pic of the gt performance package hood scoop? the holes could be in the same place due to the fact that your limited in spots to attach bolts from the under side of the hood.

I ordered my 07 with the Hood Scoop as well. I thought it was a decent size. What I really like about it, is since its factory, all points of contact sits flush on the hood. Ive seen plenty after market scoops with a corner or side that does not sit all the way down. Also the factory scoop has a nice matching front design that matches the grill. I plan on striping my GT and will be painting the scoop a solid color different than body so it will stand out even more. Dont fret about the factory one. Its looks good.

I can say from recent personal experience that the looks of the factory hood scoops on the 07's depends on the color of the car ALOT. I've seen the new scoops on orange, white, and black 07's.....and the only one it seemed ok on was the black. All pics of lighter color GT's with the new scoop made the scoop seem too small. The ones I've seen in person and in pics of darker colored GT's looked alot better. But that's just perception of course, the scoop still looks awfully lonely on that big hood.
IMO, there's nothing can be done thru the scoop size alone. What needs to happen is a reshaping of the hood itself to better accentuate the presence of the scoop. I still say someone needs to do a hood with a recessed scoop like the 01 Bullitts:

HMMM . thats a good point . But aside from the Mach 1 , has any of them been functional..??? a good CAI flows better than a hoodscoop anyway.. I guess they are ok for looks .. Me I would rather have a flat hood ...just my 2 cents ...

Well, outside of the Mach 1's in 03/04.....no, none of the scoops on mustangs in recent years have been functional from the factory. The new appearance scoops for the 07's are no different. It's just my point that if you're gonna have a scoop just for looks........make sure it actually "looks" like it belongs on the hood.[8D]
