Ithink the lanyard on it MAKES the hood pin's appearance. Without the lanyard it just looks like another badge....imo
I completely agree

Does anyone have pics of the actual placement of the pins under the hood? I want to space mine out a bit more then the plates on the radiator support let you and was wonderign if anyone uses brackets or anything.

That's the rad supports he's talking about.I did use the existing rad supports myself. Quick and easy! They work like a champ, my CF hood would rise/fall about 4 inches on a windy day. Pretty disconcerting. The hp's fixed that problem.

If I had to do over I'd put them further out but that requires drilling the front rad rail something I really didn't want to do...

Here are a couple of pictures of mine.

I didn't have to drill anything on the radiator support. There is a hole next to the headlight that I used for the pin. I did have to knock it up a little so that the stud would have enough length. I also had to take a drill bit and hollow out the hole in the stud to match the angle of the hood. Other than that, it was an easy install and I wouldn't do it any other way. It has the maximum retention of the hood as possible and it looks a little more old school in my opinion.

For those with the lanyards:

What did you do, if anything, to stop the lanyard from rubbing against the hood and destroying the paint?

I got the Shelby pins, they came with rubberized lanyards.

You can see the posts in this pic. Sorry, but the front end is sorta torn apart..

Mine. I'm not a big fan of the typical kind the lanyards. These will be sanded and painted car color. Should be nice and stealthy.
