ORIGINAL: doode

for SLP loudmouths, they just seem like mandrel bent piping
cant anyone just go to a muffler shop and have them bend 3" piping to get the same effect?
My thoughts exactly. I've always thought that SLPs make a car sound like it has a hole in the muffler, but eh, to each his own. I'm an oldschool flowmaster fan. I run a set of american thunders on my '06, and I'll be investing in a pypes O/R H soon.

Just curious, but I've never heard any feedback from anyone with pypes mufflers, what didn't you like about them?

I have the Corsa's and I love them. Exactly what I was looking for. Not obnoxiously loud or raspy, very clean and deep rumble. I love the fact that under normal driving conditions, like maintaining constant speeds on highways, you really can't notice too much difference from stock, which would come in very handy for long drives. They are just very slightly louder than stock but with a deeper throatier sound for normal driving, but when you stomp on that gas pedal, they absolutely scream. I love the way they sound, and are exactly what I wanted. Took me like 2 hours to install by myself, taking my time, very easy. What first amazed me when I opened the box and picked one up was how heavy they were. You can tell that it is a very high quality product, and the mounting brackets are welded below and around the pipes, as opposed to welded directly to the top of the pipes like the SLP's. I read a couple of threads from people complaining about how their welds were coming apart on the SLP's. I would imagine the manufacture would repair/replace, but just more hassle I'd rather not go through. Oh yea, and verified, absolutely NO DRONE.

+1 on the CORSAS. Without a doubt, THE BEST!
