CARBON FIBER subwoofer box/amp rack **update 1**
so i began by cutting out the parts. this is the first step of the carbon buildup. i first layed one-way fibers on the part, criss-crossing directions to build strength.
then i covered the top with a larger weave for looks...
here is what the front fascia will look like inside the trunk (with fiberglass front of course. this piece will not be structural, just for looks. the front of the box will just be fiberglass-reinforced wood.
and plenty of trunk space still!
partial construction, you can see that each panel will be wood reinforced and covered in carbon fiber
anoter angle
the amps will mount to the back
eq will mount in the small compartment, and crossovers will mount on the sides of it
fiberglass strengthening of the subwoofer box compartment

Thats cool, be sure to keep us updated as it comes along How much money do you expect it to cost when its all said and done? Meaning all equipment prices included (sub, amp, equilizer, wiring, headunits and anything else you might be adding.) I was just wondering because I just got an estimate on a custom box with sub and amp and was thinking about just fabbing a box myself and putting it in.

Hm.. that comes to about 300 bucks under what it would cost me to have them put it in.. maybe Ill just pay the 300 bucks and save myself the time and frustration.. because I know Ill get hung up and pissed off at one point or another and take the risk of stopping and never starting again.
