Default Need new clutch

Well, seeing how I learned how to drive a Manual car in my 05, and it has 20,000 miles on it, I can feel the clutch getting worse and worse.
So I think its time for a new clutch. It even slipped in 3rd once. Like, I started to go, then it felt like i put the clutch in for about 1/2 a sec, and it engaged again. Anyways, my question is, how long do clutches last? And What is a good company for a clutch?

I put in a Ram clutch and billet flywheel. It is more aggressive than stock but not overly aggressive.

You might have had a defective clutch. My 2002 GT 5spd's original clutch is fine at 92k miles, and thats with quite a few brake-stands on it. Always try to train yourself to slip the clutch only as much as is needed to get the job done. A clutch has to dissipate a ton of heat and I have always been amazed that they last as long as they do. If your new clutch only lasts for 30k, then you should compare your clutch tactics to someone elses.

I had 58k on my original clutch in my 99 ford ranger. It still felt like it did when I drove it off the lot. How hard is it to replace a clutch in a mustang? I've never replaced a clutch, but when the time comes I'd like to try it.

I only have 958 miles on my car and I've already worn down the clutch pedal to a nub. Oh, wait a minute. I have an automatic....

I used to have a 90 Taurus SHO, with IIRC the 11" clutch. Later years got a 12" clutch.

They said in the car magazines that 25K was the life expectancy for the clutch.

I bought it used with like 25K on it, and replaced the clutch at 54K.

That clutch was still going strong at 162K when I got rid of it.

If you are losing a clutch at 20K, either the clutch wasn't up to spec or you aren't.

Lots of people like to leave their foot on the clutch pedal, that kills a lot of clutches.

take it to a shop and have them diagnose a clutch slipping problem if that's what it is. Since you just learned how to drive a manual tranny, you need to have someone who has more experience in driving one tell you if it's clutch related or not.
