Need new clutch
Well, seeing how I learned how to drive a Manual car in my 05, and it has 20,000 miles on it, I can feel the clutch getting worse and worse.
So I think its time for a new clutch. It even slipped in 3rd once. Like, I started to go, then it felt like i put the clutch in for about 1/2 a sec, and it engaged again. Anyways, my question is, how long do clutches last? And What is a good company for a clutch?

I'm about to turn 30K on my orig clutch and it feels as good as it did day 1... guess it depends on how you drive it...

Mine just hit 30k and it still feels great [sm=gears.gif]

RE: Need new clutch
I had 58k on my original clutch in my 99 ford ranger. It still felt like it did when I drove it off the lot. How hard is it to replace a clutch in a mustang? I've never replaced a clutch, but when the time comes I'd like to try it.

I used to have a 90 Taurus SHO, with IIRC the 11" clutch. Later years got a 12" clutch.
They said in the car magazines that 25K was the life expectancy for the clutch.
I bought it used with like 25K on it, and replaced the clutch at 54K.
That clutch was still going strong at 162K when I got rid of it.
If you are losing a clutch at 20K, either the clutch wasn't up to spec or you aren't.
Lots of people like to leave their foot on the clutch pedal, that kills a lot of clutches.

take it to a shop and have them diagnose a clutch slipping problem if that's what it is. Since you just learned how to drive a manual tranny, you need to have someone who has more experience in driving one tell you if it's clutch related or not.
