Default CLOTH VS. VINYL

Hello Everyone - I'm new and have been directed to this forum. I am purchasing an '07 GT Convertible and would like to know if anyone has suggestions on which top is better - cloth or vinyl. Thanks.[sm=grinangel.gif]

Both have their ups and downs.
If you live in a place that gets really hot cloth is not going to burn you when you sit down and make you sweat when you go places, but it does stain and is harder to clean. Leather cleans easily and wont absorb dust and things.

I think he was talking about the top not the seats...

There was a discussion about a month ago... I hate to say "search" cause the search engine blows...

But the conclusion as I recall boiled down to:
1. cloth looks nicer and if taken care of will last longer
2. vinyl wrikles
3. vinyl requires a little less maintanance while it lives...

That is all from VERY hazy memory - so do try to search...

Short version is all the cool expensive cars have cloth

My answer is - when the !@#$ will it be up long enough to care?

BTW - prior to 07 you did not have the option if you didn't already know that

Thanks, I was talking about the top (should have been more specific). I appreciate the information and will try the search feature just to see what others had to say, but what you said makes sense and helps.[sm=devilangel.gif]

Man this search engine blows...

Ok, you will have to sift through a lot, but to see the various past discussions on this, here is what I had to do:

1. Combine topics and replies (in the first box)
2. subjects and bodies (in the second box)
3. "all topics" (on the "when" section

Then search for "cloth"...

don't bother with "cloth AND vert" or "cloth AND convertible"...

Alright - the next person who issues a RTFM insult in here without fixing the search engine defaults is getting a spanking...
