Fat rear tires cause understeer?

Fat rear tires cause understeer?
I'm planning on putting a 10" rear/9" front setup for the wheels/tires I'm gonna buy. I just have a question, a friend of mine who's very in the know on car setups told me fat rear tires will give you some understeer than normal if you had matched wheel/tire thickes on all corners.
Anyone notice something that happening with fats in the back?

No problems here have an 07 just got it and but 18x10 285-40 on the back and 18x9 255-45 on front and drives like a dream. The only thing is if its an 07 you have to remind them that you have a tire pressure monitor and they have to put new pressure bands on the tires..

While that may have some truth to it, (fatter can cause understeer) it's probably not a big deal. If you went skinnies up front and real fat, oh yeah...
The amount of understeer you get with your setup would be minor if any unless you really got on it. Even then it would only negate some of the oversteer most RWD cars have.
