RE: GT 500 dealer adjustment... how much???
Well we have a winner!
Trapeze was the first to guess the amount over sticker the dealer was getting: $40,000! Derf00 guessed close too.
So the total would be way over $83,000 when you add taxes, license and all the alarm systems the buyer will need. Over $90K for the GT 500... Think it'll ever come down to sticker price?
BTW, don't come down on the dealer. As I said there was no "Dealer Markup" sticker. They just had folks willing to pay that much to be the first in town to own one. What I'm wondering is what bonehead at Ford priced the car so low? Ford won't see that extra $40K will they? No wonder the Ford stock price is so low!
Of course one thing to remember is that compared to other cars on the road this might still be considered a "bargain". I mean Maybe these richy rich's are saying- "why buy that new Mercedes SL 500 when I can get a rare GT 500"?

wtf, $40k!!!!
don kott in carson has them for $16K over sticker. at least that's what the guy told me he pre-sold one for when I was jerkin' it to the $221K Ford GT in the showroom, but they hadn't actually recieved any GT500's yet.

For $83K you could buy one of the most cherriest looking first Gen Shelby Mustang on the planet and it would more looks. True they're not as fast as these new Shelby's but if someone was interested in speed they would have spent their $83K on a new ZO6.
