So, in order to get this TSB done, I'd have to lie and tell them I have the bucking issue, right? Would that be sufficient, or is it required that they get the error code?

Well maybe you have it and just don't know it.

Just tell them that It's doing it and you'd like them at least to look at it because it is very unsafe for you and your passengers. That should be good enough reason especially if you tell them your concerned with the safety of your family and passengers. I dont think they would look at you twice. I don't know of very many people who just walk in there to get free warranty work done for no reason, so they would really have no reason to doubt you. Either way they'll just hook it up to the OBDII and figure out if you got the problem or not.

If I were you I'd take it in and tell them what I said above. It's worth a shot at least

hehe.... performance increase.... lag... well... waaaahhh... let it lag a moment... then watch her go!!!
Might not seem like much, but a slight lag, then launch will effect your 1/4 mile time by a couple tenths.Which is a car lenght or so in a 13 second car,and you won't have full power thru the whole power band from lack of fuel/tune.

I momentarily forgot that this forum has lots o' folks who are indeed enthusiasts regarding their car's tune and performance. I've never had a car this well tuned and with this much power - stock. All my previous "conservative sedans" had initial (if not major) lag upon hard acceleration and to me, this Mustang just puts them to shame and so to me, our lag is practically no lag at all. Richmond..... There is no error code asociated with fuel pump / hesitation TSB issue. The TSB simply calls for techs to run a certain diagnostic to eliminate causes that might not be fuel pump related and if it comes up clean, to just replace the fuel pump module with the replacement part that fixes it. It is nearly impossible to intentionally replicate (unless they keep your car a couple of weeks and try every day driving on long highway cruises) so they just about have to take your word for it. It's a bit unscientific, but as said before, it is a safety issue.

Gotcha. Now I just have to decide if I want to replace my fuel pump for no reason other than to hopefully decrease throttle lag. I've got an XCal2 on the way, so I'll try that first I guess.

Glad I'm not the only one that saw improved drivability with the TSB installed. Very happy with the results.

Mine is going in next Tuesday for the fuel pump replacement, didn't really know I had a problem until a recent roadtrip. When accelerating from the tollbooth after cruising on the interstate for over an hour the car practically stalled, which it repeated several more times under similar circumstances. The dealer didn't question the problem during out conversation over the phone, he just told me to run the gas tank down below a 1/4 of a tank before bringing the car in. I am also having them replace the clutchpacks because of the noise at parking lot speeds.
