93 Octane Tune?

RE: 93 Octane Tune?
Try living in East new mexico were the GOOD stuff is 90 octane. I think some parts of utah are even worse where the best is 89 octane. I got to run a 93 tune in Texas and what a difference. I really didn't want to come back to this hole in the middle of nowhere. But to answer your question if your on a stock tune all you need is 87. Anything higher is just a waste of money and(slight) performance. But once you get your ride tuned you can have the tune set to take advantage of higher octane fuels.

Here is another question. The diablosport does have the 87 and 91, but the supposed 93 just says "Performance" Does that actually mean you HAVE to use 93 with it or can you use others. I ran 89 with the performance tune and really couldn't tell a difference in performance.

RE: 93 Octane Tune?
GT Jim-I feel it should stop the knock. "Some" gas stations over rate their fuel. So if it says 89 for example it may be 88+ if we were able to test it. If you go to the next oct up at the pump for what ever tune you have I am 98% sure your knock will fanish OR you should switch stations brands. And to the poster YES you MUST ALWAYS use 93 oct gas for a 93 oct tune!

RE: 93 Octane Tune?
i went from the 87 octane to the 93 octane and to be honest i didnt really notice a difference lol
but then again, i didnt really get on it too much (i hate filling the stnag up then going and wasting all the gas lol)
only the time slips can tell.
