Default exhaust leak

hi guys, i have an almost new (300 miles) GT, and i recently noticed that the exhaust was dripping some fluid. So i checked it and it seemed like water. I know that this is normal but generally the water comes out of the tailpipe. Well, not in this case. It is coming from where the muffler begins. At first I thought that it might be that the muffler wasn't well tightened with the pipe that comes over the axle, but i checked it and it was ok. i know this pic. is not the same muffler we have, but this is just to explain where my problem is.

is this normal?, or is it something i need to replace??

would this originate drone?

thanks for the info, hope you can help!!

A little science lesson. For every gallon of gasoline you burn, you make a gallon of water. A lot of mufflers have a small hole in the area you indicate for just this purpose, it blows out water that collects in the muffler shell to keep down on rust inside the muffler. No, it will not cause drone. It is completely normal, don't worry about it! Enjoy your Mustang!

What, Really??? That's interesting, so I have gallons of water sitting in my exhaust? lol... Would'nt the exhaust be a little more moist or humid when it comes out the tailpipes?

Better yet put a mirror up the the tail pipe and watch it fog up like the mirror in your bathroom does when your in the shower.

And this is perfectly normal.

When you drive for short periods of time there will be water deposits in your exhaust system. But if you drive longer and further the exhaust system will heat up, and get rid of most (if not all) water "created" in the burning process. That is what causes exhaust to rust, it comes from within. Rarely will they rot trough from the outside.

There usually is a “nipple†or another sort of opening so most of the water can leak out.
