While just because I had that doesn't mean I want to carry the same slammed theme to mine, I just don't like gaps in the wheel well between tires. Just looks cleaner with no gaps IMO. Here is a 05 built by Extensive that is bagged and I don't like the stance too much.
The front doesnt look too bad, but just something about the rear.. looks too low I think.

You are exactly right. Swap 18"s for your 17's and you'll feel the difference. (Friend of mine did this, he isn't happy but stuck with rims now) As far as filling in the wheelwell, whether 18, 19 or 20 you will likely not even meet and if you exceed it will be miniscule, the 27.1" diameter of the Pirellis.

Your statement is so true, especially the second sentence.
"Another thing to consider is the ride quality. I'm sure anyone here running 20's with a 35 series tire will tell you it's not much different than the stock ride, but they'd only be fooling themselves. "

you dont see it very often, but i think 19s look the best on our cars
I agree. Not too big, not too small. And you can always find really lightweight applications for a 19 inch rim. I'm personally going to go with this size eventually.

I don't think having bigger rims is necessarily about "pimping out" a car anyway. I know especially the older folks don't like it, but it's an obvious trend of the times to have bigger rims on cars. Small wheels just plain look bad nowadays, especially on certain cars. It's all about the application. While I would never put 20's or larger on a Mustang, I wouldn't hesitate to put them on something like a Caprice Classic, Monte Carlo, or any full size pickup truck or SUV. Of course there's more, but these are just some examples.
