RE: Grinding in First while shifting at slow roll
Yes I have it too,
It use to bother me but I have since adjusted my shifting habits,
I just wait until I am going really slow to shift into 1st and that seems to work. I notice it the most when my RPMs are high. Brake and then shift, make sure you're RPMs are low and see if that helps.
Also dont jam it in, ease it in. You will feel it push back, dont force it at this point, wait then try again a second later, but it will let you in gear. The slower and lower the RPMS the easier it is to get in.
Cheers,

What speed are you guys driving when it grinds into 1st gear?
I don't usually put it into 1st when driving slow, most of the time I go into 2nd unless I'm almost stopped.
But just a little while ago I was driving and tried shifting into 1st @ 5mph and @ 10mph. It didn't grind at all. There was some resistance going into 1st @ 10mph, but I just eased it in.

under 10MPH I have no real trouble getting it into 1st. It is a little stiff but no grinding. Above 10 it doesnt grind but just wont go into gear unless I really force it.

RE: Grinding in First while shifting at slow roll
below 10mph i have no problem at all getting into first, i get a bucking bronco if the rpms are real low, or i get the car to slow down real fast. Normally if i shift into first below 10mph i have the brakes on anyway and it goes super easy. But since you say it is jumping out of gear that makes me think its your driving. (no offense or anything) Just when i first drove this car i had that happen like 2 times where i shifted into first and didnt put it all the way into gear and then i got the little grind before it slid its way back to nuetral. But with manual cars everyone makes mistakes every now and then. I have only been driving manual cars since i got my license and every now and then i still do the bucking bronco or i stall it out, just because i get lazy.

Same here, but I've had mine to grind while sitting still at a light and putting it in gear. The funny thing is, the service manager was sitting next to me while I was telling him about the grinding and it did then. Did, they fix it, H*** NO!!!!!! They said "operating per design". Love it Ford, I freakin love it!
