Default Wish me luck! Installing stripes.

I'll be installing my 10 inch stripe kit from baltimorestreetmods tomorrow. I spent all afternoon washing and removing the wax from the car. It's amazing how many scratches/swirl marks you can see with no wax on the car! I'll post some before and after pics tomorrow afternoon, hopefully.

Good Luck!!!

Let us know how it goes. I'd like to place an order and do it myself but I'm afraid I might screw it up.

Don't be stingy with the water. It will make your life a lot easier.

We started with the roof, then trunk and hood. Its not too hard, kinda fun.

Good Luck!

I thought I'd start with the hood then do the roof and so on. I need my wife to help with the big pieces and I doubt she'll last more than a few hours before she gets bored.

I will use plenty of water. Where did everyone measure from to find the center on the hood? I was planning on measuring from the sides of the hood, but that won't really find the center of the vehicle, only the center of the hood.

Do you need to remove the washer nozzles? If so how do they come off?

thanks

Remove the hoses on them under the hood ... then just squeeze them and push them up through the top of the hood. Don't lose the little rubber gasket on the outside of the hood.

I figured it out.

Warning! Do not get the backing paper wet! This will cause the paper to stick to the stripe and ruin your day!

Stripe install has been canceled until further notice. Now I'm not sure if I should rewax the car or not.

Well I haven't heard back from baltimore streetmods about getting just one stripe to replace the one I F'd up, but since I had nothing planned for the whole day I decided to start on the back. If i can't buy just one stripe i'll end up trashing the whole kit anyway so might as well practice.

First if you don't have a helper do not try to do this yourself, get a shop to do it. Even trying to peel off the small stripes is a pain by yourself.

Second anitque white looks kickass on vista blue!

I'll post another pic with the back completed if I don't screw it up. So far the hardest part is getting the vinyl off the paper without it folding over on itself!
