There's a FAQ thread in the 4.0L S197 section (S197 is the chassis code for the 2005-2007 Mustangs). That will answer a bunch of questions.

Your engine choices are the 4.0L V6 or the 4.6L V8 (GT). If you're looking to drag race, go for the GT (more bang for the buck). But the 4.0's are great motors too, and can be made into quick racers as well.

Am I the only one who feels a little bit more retarded after reading that. Not trying to be a dick, but grammer much(ok I guess I am being one). Are you comparing it to any other vehicle or just plainly want a mustang and want to make it a "real drag race car"?

The 2005-2007 mustangs come in two flavors: 1) A 4.0 liter V6 engine and 2) a 4.6 liter V8 engine (The GT model).

V6 Pros: Better on gas milage, cheaper insurance, and can still be modded to decently quick cars.

GT Pros: More power! More power! And that ****-eating grin you get from mashing the gas pedal.

As far as a REAL drag car, neither. REAL drag cars are usually custom built. If you asking which will perform better on a drag strip, the GT hands down. Bigger engine, and more modding oportunities.

well i dont have the money to build a custom drag type car, so i wanna buy a car with power. ALOt of power so i will not have to put alot of componets in it so it will still run fast. Mustang 05 V8 answers that. In most cases a bigger engine is better and faster. except for the V8 Sallene VS the V12 Aoustin Martin.

The Sallene has a V8 engine, but rune 2.3 in 0-60.
The Austin Martin has a V-12 engine, but runs like 3.somthin in 0-60
