Will the price of 05-06 stangs go down much?
Alright, I'm buying a mustang in about a year and a quarter if I get my licence on time. I really like the body of the 05-06 mustangs but they are a bit out of my price range at about $15,000 used. Now I realise the main reason that the 99-04 mustangs are in my price range ot begin with is because they changed the body style and they are considered old now. Anyway, is there any chance at all that the price of the newer mustangs will go down to atleast $12,000 in the next year or so?

All depends on if you don't mind getting a car that has tons of miles on it. Most likely didn't have the best life, but that's why it'll be cheaper. Otherwise, you'll probably find the price doesn't fall quite to the point you're hoping... not on sticker at least. You may have more leverage to talk a dealer down closer to that 12000 mark (tough fight though), or maybe you can find someone who has no idea what they should be selling their mustang for. Either way, you'll be looking at a bone stock, base everything, V6.

I doubt that these new retro mustangs are going to depreciate as fast as the last body styles did, mainly because of the 60's replica design genious that was engineered into them, the impressive performance of the 4.6 in the GT and the popularity of them, seems like everyone I talk with about them likes them. The won't depreciate as fast as previous GT's do.

What about car auctions? Like the exclusive ones that only dealers are welcome to. one of my dads friends from highschool has nice used exotic/muscle car dealership and has invited us to auctions in that past. Are cars really any cheaper at them?

i would be weary of buying a used gt with few miles on it for a cheap price. i would assume that the driver pulled the e-brake at 90mph more than a few times or something

Sure they are, but there's a good chance lately that they are were a flooded vehicle that has been reconditioned.
I wouldn't go by the prices on ebay. I personally wouldn't buy a car on ebay and I think a lot of other people wouldn't either.
