Which Is A Better Car For Me?

RE: Which Is A Better Car For Me?
I live near Atlanta ... almost weekly there are stories and photos of some high school kids who got killed in the new BMW, Land Rover, Mustang, etc ... that their Mom and Dad bought them ... Get a cheap 4 cylinder car and save your money for drugs and beer .... High school is about hanging out and partying with your buddies ... not going fast and getting killed ...

Insurance on even a V6 Mustang would be very high.
Speaking of outrageous insurance prices...One of my friends that has almost a dozen tickets, and a bench warrent out for his arrest is looking to get a new car. He's looking at buying a Scion xB. He called for an insurance quote and they quoted him at $397/mo, he's 21. And to add to that, he has terrible credit so his interest rate would be like 17%.

, Yeah , but I would want at least a V6 Mustang, even if its not 05, what about an older mustang, like a 03 or 00. I like the Cobra's too, but I heard they are super fast.

2007 VW rabbit. More realisticly speaking you should be looking for a nice used car. Anyone that puts a 16 year old kid behind the wheel of a 300hp mustang has **** for brains. Tell your father I said that please!

I don't think that's necessary, but there should be an age requirement related to HP, just like there is for alcohol.

There should be a law that says that anybody under the age of 18 should not be allowed to own a car that costs more than $5000.

Agreed: Don't get something crazy like a 'Stang GT for your first car. It will only get dented, banged up, or worse -- wrapped around a pole. Get something underpowered where you can learn to drive, something that is good on gas (assume you will be paying for gas), and something that is easy on your folks insurance policy (assuming they are paying for it). There is nothing wrong with a Focus or a Civic or a Stratus. This is your first car -- everyone has a "beater" for their first car. Work your way up to the newer Mustang once you have learned to be a good driver, can afford the gas and insurance. Beleive me, it feels much better when you've EARNED the car.
