Default not quick enough

my car still isnt quick enough, can i get a rough estimate of how much 4.10s would cost and the install?

Actually is it possible to do the 4.10 install yourself or is it best to have a shop do it?

Have a pro do your gear. This is something a professional should do. Although it seems like a simple install, measuring pinion depth for proper gear mesh is difficult and if the install is not done right the results could be very dangerous. I have a gear waiting to be installed but I am looking for the right place to do it.

I've set up Ford 8" and 9" gears. It is a lot easier on removable diffs. I would take these to a shop to do, just because of the ease of doing it on a lift, rather than crawling under there and trying to do it.

I used to work on cars quite a bit - but watching the shop put in my gears was well over my head. there is a fine art to doing this for them to be right and not whine, etc.

I would let a shop do it, and it I would say it usually runs around $250-$275. At least that is how much it cost me.

Do gears really help that much?

While I haven't taken my car to the track to see times etc. but I know I could definately feel the difference. Our cars like to rev so the gears help keep them in the power zone. So IMO yes the gears are worth it.

Kaldar142 - If it's not quick enough, just ask your parents to buy you a Ford GT! [sm=laughat.gif]

Judging by the way he beats on his Mustang in his myspace video, it looks like he'll either wreck the car, blow the motor, or kill himself trying.
