I didn't know either, so I told the factory to keep it. But if I had my wits about me, I would have orderd it on the car, then bolted it to theheadboard of my bed.

I've tried to remove mine by unbolting the four nuts but it won't come off. What gives? Are there tapes on the bottom?

Yes, 3M VeryHighBond double sided tape.
Fishing line will take care of it. Saw thru it
with the fishingline around the bolts. You will
need new VHB tape to reinstall it correctly.
