You guys are alright!
I've receive a lot af very helpful advice through this forum. CAI's and Tunes were the first. Then someone turned me on to Turtle Wax Ice and I've been loving that stuff.
Now.....The topper. The California Duster!!! Outstanding. My life with a black car has just been made infinitely easier. Shined her all up this weekend and wouldn't you know, rain Tuesday morning on the way to work. My car looked like a spotted, automotive, leopard by the time I got home. Used the duster on it though and in 5 min it looked like new again.
My most heartfelt gratitude to all!

I would be very careful wiping off the car even with a duster after it has been on a wet or dusty road all those pieces of grit will scratch the you know what out of a car. You might not notice the scratches at first but they will add up over time. The duster is good for a slightly dusty vehicle even then it scares me using it with the possibility of dragging grit across the car.

OK... OK.... How could I resist????
Autogeek.com sells them - Dust With Me! - and I "think" I've seen them in PepBoys or other auto parts stores.

Check out their website www.californiaduster.com, or most auto stores,... Autozone, Pepboys, Bumper-to-Bumper, Carquest etc..

Agree with the comment about how it probably isn't a good idea to dust the car after a rain. It probably worked for you due to having lots of good, new wax on the car.
You might want to use a detail mist that wipes off with a microfiber towel. I use Meguir's Quik Detailer. You spray a section and wipe with a folded towel, then flip the towel and dry with a cleaner portion of the towel.
There's also a waterless auto wash that works the same way. It's supposed to suspend the particles so they are easily wiped off but I have never tried that yet.
The main thing as you can probably guess is to keep lots of wax on the car!

I've found that the Cali Duster works well for dusting the dash and interior trim, but I've never tried it on the exterior. Probably wouldn't since I've experienced the dreaded spider webs on my black '88 Merkur XR4Ti.
If anything, I would suggest using one of the detailing sprays on the duster to make sure you don't transfer the grit as you're dusting.

I use Meguirer's quick detailer spray with a good microfiber towel between washes or after a quick florida rain, and I gota say it keeps my black lookin beautiful. I was a little weary of the duster but maybe I'll give it a try.
