Virginia state police have a marked 2000 Cobra R and several of the last generation z28s. Also when I was in Fla. broward county seemed to have some fast supra, and i do mean FAST.
They as well as local police drive Dodge Chargers, Dodge Intrepids, Chevy Malibusand I have seen an unmarked Expedition pulling over a speeder! The Charger I saw was black with a spoiler....some stupid person was trying to race him until he pulled him over....that's how I know they are out there.

Theres a black S197 cop car in my area. Has blacked out windows, and is always looking for speeders at night. A friends of mine got pulled over by it and swears it was blown, but i seriously doubt that any PD would put aftermarket parts like that on a cop car. Even if you can outrun it, you cant outrun radio waves...
Years ago they used to put special engines in unmarked police cars to make them insanely fast....at least around here.

Dude, are you sure it was a cop car! If I remember correcty all police cars including highway patrols are supposed to be visibly marked.

Not true. Every state is different, but here in Fl there are several Mustangs, Chargers, Explores, F150 that are unmarked and can pull you over when ever they want. The whole car has to be marked is a myth.

nothing is impossible.

could have been seized in a forfeiture and put in the motor pool.

When I was stationed in clearwater fl. in the 90s, I knew of three different unmarked fox bodied stangs. They were all different, but all were customed out to the max. They all had aftermarket exhausts, wheels/tires, and very dark tinted windows. I knew what each of them looked like, and was real cocky that they would never get me. Wrong! I was hauling on an on ramp, while on my way to the base one day. There he was sitting in a strip mall lot. I saw him, but it took a second to long to remenber what he was. He was very quick to ticket me. It was a very nice looking stang. Teal color, ghost flames paint job, lowered, chrome rims, with fat low profile tires. His side markers held strobes, and the tint had cutouts so the blue, and red lights could show through. After he gave me my ticket he drove off. His exhaust could of set off car alarms if he wanted.
