I guess it's all in what kind of look you're going for. If you're going for a old school Shelby 65 or 66 look, the smaller low profile scoops like the Roush are a better choice. If you're looking for an old school Boss 429 look, a bigger scoop like the B9 is the way to go.
I personally prefer to have some extra shaping to the stock hood if I'm gonna have a scoop on there. That's why I'm currently looking at the Cervini M1 hood/scoop kit and also the Fang Performance bolt-on scoop hood. Both sport that classic "spear" shape up front like the 69-70 Bosses and Mach's had. I like that. I'm even considering doing the CDC Foose style hood and mounting the B9 scoop onto it. That would look mean as hell........especially on black
As far as the issue of functional scoops vs. non-functional scoops.....let's not kid ourselves. Most ppl know that an open inlet single hood scoop is gonna do almost nothing for your performance......even if it is a true ram air system. I talked to a guy the other day in the parking lot who had a CDC shaker system on his redfire 06 GT. He said he put it on mostly for looks, and then admitted that he hasn't noticed anything significantly different in the power output of his car.......both at low and higher speeds. Back in the carberated days, scoops served a useful function by bringing a source of fresh air to the intake filter, which was, of course, atop the engine. But in the age of the modern electronic modular motor, such a setup will only see benefits at extremely high speeds.......or maaaybe if you're packing a forced induction setup pushing alot of boost. And even then, its not likely your gains will be significant.

RE: Decisions Decisions????
Thanks for all the replies!!! I was busy so I couldn't get on...but I did get to go and see a Red Roush w/ a Scoop on it. It looked pretty good, I think I might go with Roush but not fully sure on it
