Default Took the stang to the track.

Went to byron dragway to get some base runs done.

2006 Mustang GT 5-speed Manual- every option minus Shaker 1000.

Race weight was 3470, or 3690 with me in it.
For S&G I took out the spare, mat, and jack. It weighed 3395. Not bad.

My car only had 450miles on it at the time and it is absolutely bone stock.

Did 7-8 runs total. 1st time I left with the traction control on... 14.2@98.xx My best time was 14.02x@100.xx 2.1xx 60' I can't find my slip for that run. But my second best run was as follows. And my worst run was 14.4@98

r/t- .199
60'- 2.182
330'- 5.981
1/8 - 9.134@78.17
1000'-11.836
1/4mi 14.099@99.55

d/a = 2532 ft
There was also a 18-20mph headwind the entire time we were at the track.

I really thought I was going to be able to hit 13's stock. oh well.

I was launching at 2k to 2.2k. Then dumping the clutch, letting it spin for a tad back out about 30% then nail the gas again. Good? That got me both my 14.0's. I left it in 3rd gear, I never shifted to fourth. I just let 3rd gear whine out. Should I be shifting to forth? Any tips greatly appreciated.

On a side note, a C6 z06 was there his best was 12.3@115 and another bone stock 06 mustang GT just like mine, was running like me low 14s @ 99ish. Then bam! He ran a 13.666@93.xx, missing a gear. We think if he didn't miss a gear he would have gone 13.4.

You could lose weight! Unless your 6'2". You don't want to spin off the line.

Wait... you ran a 13.6 at 2500 ft missing a gear? Thats unheard of.

I think this topic has been discussed before and the majority agreed that shifting into 4th would only hurt your time with stock 3.55 gears of course. I don't know as i've yet to go to the track, but when I do I'll be near sea level so I guess that will help.
