Mustang is much nicer than my GTO
Enjoying my mustang much more than the GTO so far. The GTO's LS2 felt like a truck motor. It didn't rev as willingly as my 4.6, and just felt like a big dumb motor. The shifter was garbage, the IRS was great for touring, but was not a good set up for the strip.
The Mustang makes me grin every time I spin the key.

I had a '69 GMC pickup with a 460 ci big block that made 450 hp and 500 ft lbs of torque. My Mustang is faster through the 1/4 mile and a lot more fun to drive. I never thought I'd say this about a mass produced car but this Mustang is one very nice ride. That little 4.6 puts an ear to ear grin every time I turn the key.

The GTO isnt even an american car, it's a monaro=an import, it's too heavy has body desinged 11 years ago-maybe someone should have told them that it's not early 90's retro cars that are in , but 60's muscle cars. I'll never understand why tey had to rush the GTO out using a platfromthat dates back to the early 90's, it should have looked like a 60's or 70-71 retro style or they shouldnt have even called it a GTO, they would have sold more if they just kept the monaro badge on and left GTO compeltley out of it.

I think GM was just running damage control. I think instead of paying homage to a classic name and building an entrely new car from the ground up the way Ford did, GM just took an existing RWD chassis dropped a big yet somewhat primitive engine into it and slapped a GTO badge on the side.

Exactly just like dodge used the name charger... in hopes to win customers over... I think the old name "Intrepid" woulda worked without embarrasing the charger name... When i test drove the Charger... it felt more like a rental car than a sports sedan... but all and all not bad car... but it was also a dissapointment for all the die-hard charger fans...
