Default Which Suspension???

I was on my way to work today, gunning it as I usually do and as I was taking a turn, I noticed how sloppily the stang took it. I just put new wheels on it (20's) and since they are wider, they take turns better than the factory rims, but I still want a tighter turn. Okay here is the kicker, I live in NY (the pothole capital of the world) and I have 20's, so I dont want the ride to be too hard. I don't necessarily care about the height as long as it handles well and takes bumps well. Maybe I'm an idiot (many people subscribe to this thought by the way), but I want better handling AND I want it to take bumps better, if that is at all possible. Any feedback from anybody with different spring/suspension kits please let me know what I should do.

Well, the 20s are going to hurt you somewhat. Low-profile rubber is going to make bumps harder.

Check out this past thread. I wrote a very long post about the suspension parts:

the kits (FRPP, Steeda, etc.) are OK, but they are not optimal in my opinion.

Crazy Al, nice post... but I have one more Q. If I go with the tokico d-spec, will that also eliminate that crazy hop I get when I hit a bump at high speeds? Also, factoring in that I have 20's, if I set it so it could ride more smoothly, will I notice an improvement in performance in taking turns and handling as well?

CrazyAl is right on the money!
(I'm in NY as well, Long Island to be exact)
Low profile is going to kill your ride.

I was just out in my firends 06 Vette last night and you can actually feel the paint strips in the parking lot's with that thing.
No kidding!
It's thick paint, but even still!

Steve, that is crazy! I know it sucks to hit a bump in that car. I'm thinking about going with the tokico D-Specs, hopefully that will help.

My problem is not the ride roughness now, I'm fine with that. My toyo's take bumps pretty good...my problem is the way the stang hops when I hit a bump and the way it takes turns kinda sloppily... so I wanted to add a diff suspension kit, BUT since I have the 20's (which I love by the way) I am afraid of how the NEW suspension kit would make my ride a lot rougher. So now I want a better suspension and not lose any comfort of the ride... if thats possible. I realize that this might be like asking to travel east and west at the same time but so far it seems like it might be possible if I use the tokico d-specs.

Well, the D-specs are certainly adjustable. If you soften them up, then the car won't hop when you hit a bump at speed.

However, setting them softer like that is going to be a detrimental to hard cornering, etc.

Crazy Al, I need your opinion... is it worth the 6-7 hundred bucks on the d-specs if I'm gonna soften them? The vast majority of my drive is on city streets, and that is where I occasionaly have fun. And secondly, in your opinion will the ride be better on turns than the stock, even if I soften them to the max? Should I just shut up about the hop and keep the suspension as is since having 20's kinda changes everything?
