Speaking of the GT500 20k over, how much was the Stang selling for......
If I recall correctly, did the 05 Mustang GT's sell for 5k over sticker when they 1st came out? Though the GT500 isnt massed produced, I'm sure by time the 08 model rolls around, you could get them at sticker new.

there are now a couple of GT500 Shelby's for sale here in England, yours for the nice figure of $100k !!! (obviously import duty,our VAT is included in that) but it,s shocking

That could be true if they still will be making the GT500 in 2008 and if they will mass produce. The Shelby deal is a year by year deal and 2007 is the only agreed upon year to make the Shelby GT500 at this point. So to say they will get cheaper is a misnomer. A) because as you even recognized the GT was being MASS Produced wheras the SHelby GT500 is in limited numbers. B) Ford and Shelby have not publicy stated or committed to the GT500 as a line for the future. More or less it is supposed to be their new strategy of releasing a new / Old mustang yearly (If the company is succesful with the Shelby) and again if you are a company who is fiscally challenged you could be better served presenting yearly teasers to the public, rather than mas producing.

i pretty sure the price was a little higher when they first came out, cause i bought mine in oct 04 and it was $36,000. Now the same one is about $29,000.

i live in a oilfield city and for some reason they think we should pay a higher price for our toys. PLus mine was the first one on the street here

When I bought in February of 05, most of the dealers here in Orange County were asking between 5 and 6 K over sticker, IF you could find a GT....Got mine for sticker. Not all dealers are alike......

Like mlcrycc did I had seen other GTs in April of 2005 going for up to $5,000 over invoice. I told the dealer I'd buy the one I wanted when/ if it came in for sticker. I did and they treated me very well.
