Default Possible GT500 dead pedal style cover

Since my original post got deleted for being too ad like. Here is the same thing worded a bit different in an attempt not to crush anyones toes.

Note: original post is back with help of the mods, but since I cannot delete the extra post, we unfortunatly now have 2.

Here are some pics of something I am working on for my car. I would appreciate some feedback on its design and some thoughts on how many of you would be interested in buying something like this if I was able to have them made in quantity. I have no idea about pricing yet. But I woudent release them unless they were reasonably priced compared to other dead pedal pads out there.

The design is not final yet and I am open to ideas.

It is actually no bigger than the existing pedal.

The other way to do it would just be a flat pad with the inserts. But it wouldnt cover all the areas of carpet that seem to get dirty.

This is just the first prototype of an idea I am working on.

Do u have an idea on the projected cost? I am wanting a dead pedal bad, but all the current ones that are on the market right now look like crap.

I cant say for sure yet because of the quantity. I am not manufacturing them myself as I dont have the machinery to do so. I do know that it would hopefully be in line with the cost other custom dead pedal covers out there. If it ends up being very expensive, I may have to modify the design to make it a bit cheaper.

If enough people are interested in something like this I would think I can get the cost in the right area.

i retract my vote...
It looks like crap...
WAAAYY too big...
doesn't matter if it covers up the carpeting that is in it's place...it's still a giant peice of metal..
should be no bigger than about 2x the size of the gas pedal

I think it could be a great idea. While I do like the standard pedals, it could prove to be pretty nice.

Point well taken. Though I question the tone.

I could have made it any size I wanted to, it is only that big because its main purpose in my mind was to cover up the carpet. Crawl under your dash and take a closer look at the dead pedal. It is not a small area.

For me personally, if it doesent protect at least the majority of the carpet, whats the point? It has to be at least as wide as someones foot or you will just have a stainless pad outlined by stained carpet after a while.

Any other thoughts.

I havnt given this much thought or looking into but if it is possible to raise the pedal off the carpet, it could then be smaller and still protect it. maybe just add a U shaped bracket where one wall of the U mounts to the floor and the other mounts to the pedal.

EDIT: that might also make it more confortable to use. as long as it doesnt get in the way of the clutch.

Maybe, but then you would have this wedge shaped pedal sitting on top of a dead pedal. I dont know how good it would look.

While the factory angle is shallow compared to other cars, for some reason I find it comfortable as it allows me to stretch my left leg out a bit better on long drives.

But everyone has different preferences when it comes to that stuff.
