ORIGINAL: moosestang

I hope everyone in the South is wasing the lovebugs off within 24 hours. They can start causing permanent damage in a short time.
Yeah have you guys heard of using fabric softener sheets for taking them off? Wet them and theyre supposed to take the lovebugs off quickly and clean.. and leave your car smelling like fresh laundry. Anyone know if its safe for the paint/any experience with it?

I hate when I see nice cars in car washes.. nothing but hand washing for me thanks

+1 on the avoiding the drive through automated car washes!
I had to get the car washed on a trip after it rained and I had been on the highway and backroads, so I went through one in Buellton at the gas station. It made so much noise on the roof, and I assume, on all other body parts! I thought it was going to tear through the car!
Next time I'll just borrow a hose at the motel.

Oh, one thing though, it was nice seeing my clean Mustang when I peeked out the window of my motel room (Windmill Inn) the next morning!

I think I have posted this before but will say it again.. NO Car wash for these cars..My hubby is sooo A**ul about washing the cars that he even came up with an Idea to get all the water our of those little holes, you know the ones that keep dripping and dripping even when you have wiped them 100 times.. Well he came up with ( and some of you may do this) he takes the leaf blower for the yard ( or I should say he bought one the most powerful one they had LOL) and Blows all the water off the car and out of the grill and off the little holes on the hood scoop, before he hand dries it.. I have to say the first time I saw him, I thought Gawd what a waste of time. WELL guys I have to say, I ate my words, Now I dont dry my car with out it..

I know! I have several areas on my GT that make me want to get a high pressure air hose!
First, that grill up front! I gotta poke my fingers into all the holes, sometimes jamming them when I forget that some holes don't go all the way through.
Then there's the whole auto-down window thing, so after you think you're done and take the car to the store you'll have a water line on the bottom of the windows even if you don't lower them on the drive!
The wing is a real fun area too! Gotta not only raise the trunk so I can look under there and make sure I got all the drops that hang in those grooves, but where it attaches to the trunk will drip out. I press down on the wing and get a whole stream of water!
Of course I dry all around the trunk lid including its underside, as lots of water stays there.
Any other areas on a convertible?
