Default Tripmeter

Has anyone had problems with their tripmeter resetting for no apparent reason?

Mine did it once, and really pissed me off, as the trip miles were identical to the odometer.

I am pretty sure it only goes to 999.9 miles at which point it rolls over to 0, this is pretty common with tripmeters.

Mine has done that few times. Ill get to like 32 or so and the next time I start it it says 00.0 I usually reset mine with each fillup, just a habit, sorta urked me too! I think it is a troll.

That's correct, however, it matched # per # up to 999, then the 3 digits, and the 10th matched, all of a sudden it reset on it's own.
Just an **** thing with me I guess.
When I picked it up, it said 00001.3 on both.

Now........ here's a good question the odometer only shows 5 digits before the decimal point. Does this mean after 99999.9, it rolls back to zero like the old cars did ?

The stang is not here right now so I can't check if there is room for an extra digit, but usually digital meters will not show the 100k figure until you get to it. It could roll back to 0 if there isn't room for the extra digit.

It is very rare to see a tripmeter digital or not go past 999.9

Your odometer will no longer show 1/10s of miles after 99,999.9 miles again this is very common with cars today.

Weird! This just happened to me on Sunday. I filled up my car, reset the trip as I always do after each fillup to 0.0. I then drove roughly about 17 miles home. When I got in my car later that day, the trip had reset itself back to 0.0 even though I had really driven 17 miles and I never reset it. Since then, it's been fine, but off about 17 miles. I have no idea why it did that.....

I've noticed the same thing on my car as well. Randomly, and without reason, the tripmeter will reset itself. I dont tend to use it for any real purpose, but I did find it a bit odd. Must be a bug or something.
