I've never hard problems with my 500. Im always playing mp3s. I have aftermarket subs and amps rigged in the back with the stock head unit.

OK, I've had lot's of skipping with my shaker 1000. When it plays, I love it and the sound is awesome, but it skips quite a bit, even with brand new cd's ... Is this a warranty issue and does the dealer have to get the problem to repeat before they will replace? I just know as soon as I take it in, it will not skip on a single CD. Advice???

Mine skips on burnt cd's only, i never had it skip on a store bought cd. If I rip the songs myself at the highest or near highest quality I have no issues, that's burning at 4x, but songs downloaded off the net tend to skip and get stuck. Worse than the skipping is the amount of time it takes to switch between cd's and songs. I would buy aftermarket if I were you.

Mine has skipped before. It's good to know others do too.

When it skips, does it resume play automatically? I have an Aiwa MP3 CD player that skips if I go over rough roads but it keeps on trucking.

Not mine, it usually just skips the song. It has nothing to do with rough roads either, it has everything to do with the read head or whatever it's called. My wifes JVC MP3 player I got for her car kicks it's *** in the reading tracks department.

If you steal a lot of songs off the net and burn your own cd's I would recommend getting the cheap factory stereo and installing your own aftermarket system.

Actually, I own all of the CDs that I use for extracting songs into MP3 format.
A lot of people are saying their shakers are working fine, but I am wondering if they are even using MP3 CDs or just the radio.

Have had a couple problems with my 1000. But it comes and goes. And when i say problems i mean skipping. But its not really that big of a deal for me. I really dont understand this thread much, if you have heard so many horror stories and just go out and by a new head unit and system. Plus not every shaker system is going to be the same, some will have probelms...some wont.
