Styling changes I don't understand

DISCLAIMER: I don't intend to disrespect anyone or any car with this post. I just want to read the discussion.

1) Side view mirrors painted to match car. They look OK painted, but they look OK black too. The mirrors are the last thing I notice about a car. Is it really worth the $ and trouble?

2) Tinted windows. If you live in Arizona or Florida, I can see the need. I like to be seen driving my car. They look OK, but are they really worth the hassle with the law?

3) Headlight changes of any kind. Seriously, and this is not even debatable, the OEM headlights are one of the best looking features about these cars. Why would you mess with that?

Because people want their car to be their own. I'll somewhat agree with you, often the mods look kinda bad.. obviously not everything is going to be 100% functionality.

Must say the lack of tinted windows in my car has been killing me (as far as sunlight) and I don't even live in one of the states you mentioned! It sucks ass to try to check your blind spot only to be staring right into the setting sun. Not to mention all the other misc reasons to have them.

I like the stock lights, that doesn't mean I have a problem with people changing them.. just its not for me.

As far as the side mirrors go, I've seen some I liked and some I haven't. Sometimes the black may look kinda bad on a car if you have multiple colors on the car already, or you only want 2 colors one of which isn't black. Not to mention as I said above it makes the car look slightly unique, even if everyone doesn't see it the same way..

1) Yes its worth it. Its even worth it if you have a black car to have them painted black, at least then theyre glossy. You never really know how bad the mirrors look until you see 2 cars side by side, one painted one not. Its totally different and adds a nice touch to the car for a small price. It doesnt take much to paint the mirrors, the expensive part is if you dont sand them yourself, then youre looking at a few man hours just to do that. I hate the mirrors that textured black plastic. If you look at most all other cars, even average priced cars these days they have painted mirrors. I think the only ones that dont are the really cheap ass cars like the Geo or Kias and hybrids.

2) Tinted windows are awesome.. I do live in Florida though, so it helps keep the sun and some heat out but thats not why I got them. I mainly got them because I like privacy. I have 5% and you cant see squat inside my car, I love it. Why would I want some person sitting in the car next to me looking into my car? We have alot of trucks around here and people in trucks like to sit there and stare in your windows.. its like "WTF do you want?!" Plus its good so that people cant see what youre doing in your car, so if you do NEED privacy you have it. Plus it just makes the car look better IMO. I am going with a silver/black scheme and the tinted windows just help it along. As far as the law, you can get pretty dark in most states without being illegal, and alot of stats even allow you to do as dark as you want on rear and rear 1/4 windows and then a certain % with the drivers, so you have alot of play with them. Only people that really have to worry about it is those who do dark all the way around, and even then, Ive never seen or even heard of a cop pulling someone over JUST for tint, so unless youre doing something wrong, I doubt you have anything to worry about.

3) I really have nothing to say about this one since I think the stock headlights look better than anything else out there, but I will be switching them out eventually for the Saleens, but those look the same just 23894 times brigther.

The BEST mirrors I've seen belong to 1quickshortbus. If, I could, I'd have those over anything else.

Thanks for your opinion...and for your continued support to the freedom of speech. I think is a matter of personal taste and pockets.

No, just personal taste. You really think that anyone that can spring for a new Mustang couldn't afford the $500 for all 3 of those mods?

I agree about the tint. But not because of the law. I just dont like tint.

The headlamps are great as is IMO.

The mirrors I actually thought about doing myself. But I am not sure yet and being they are so big, I am leary.

But everyone has their own taste. Personally, most of the aftermarket mods out there make me nausious. I saw a roush car and an elenor conversion at my dealer that looked like turd to me.

1)My mirrors aren't painted, but it's the 1st thing I notice about the car that makes it looks cheap to me. I most likely will not paint my mirrors though.
2)I live in Phoenix, AZ. I am not going to tint my windows even though they would help with the heat. I don't want the reduced visibilty of looking throught tinted windows at night. There's also the durability issue. I do think tinted windows look better than clear though.
3) To each his own

I need to clarify about the headlights. I'm not talking about a tint, I'm talking about painting the insides and/or installing those composite replacements.
