Default Royal Purple

I just changed my oil yesterday and used Royal Purple. I know that synthetic oils are capable of being used longer than the 3K miles between changes that we are use to with traditional oil, but my question is how long do you guys really feel comfortable leaving this stuff (any synthetic) in?

The web site says it is good up to 12K between changes but I'm not really sure I'm willing to leave it that long. Possibly half that.

Just thought I'd get some other opinions...

Ask an oil question, and you can get 100 different answers that all make sense.
A neighbor turned me on to Lubrication Engineers afew years ago, and that's all I use now. I drive 25K a year, and I change my filter @ 12.5, and the oil at 25K. I'm going on my 5th year using this stuff, and it's in my lawn tractor, boat, wife's car, and my Mustang. My buddy uses it in his race car, PU, and commercial dump truck, it's a deisel and goes 80K between changes. NEVER had a problem, and they sent me their performance sheets as to how they compare with all the other brands, and it is good stuff. [sm=trust_me.gif]check it out www.le-inc.com You can't buy it retail, so we just order by the case from their salesman, and it is delivered right to the house. JMO

I also use Royal Purple and I intend to change the oil evey 5 thousand (which is twice a year for me). I'm sure I could go longer between changes but why? It's not so expensive that I can't afford a $50 oil change twice a year.

Every 3,000 miles, which for me, is twice yearly.

the "big oil companies" WANT you to throw good oil away. Who came up with 3K miles,.................... THEY DID.
