OK I can't stand it anymore. I have to put my 2 cents in. I have enough money to purchase a GT 500 but for the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would give that much money for such little value. I also would by the z06 before I ever thought about buying a GT500. I firmly believe that the standard GT has the best value of the GT500 or the Saleens. Ford did a great job designing the GT and with all of the mods you can make why would you spend 2 to 3 times more money for them to add it to your car. IMO the GT 500 should sell for 10 grand over the maxed out GT and you would have somewhat of a value. Hope I don't sound stupid but that is my logic. By the way, the dealer by my house has 2 Saleens that they want 47 grant each. They aren't even Supercharged. They must me smoking crack.

1st of all, you might not be stupid enough to buy a GT500 for 25k markup, that doesn't mean others aren't.
2nd The stealership marks it up that high, FORD itself looks down on markups.
3rd Most People that buy them wanted the car when they were growing up and couldn't afford one.

Well, I'm one of those guys who have gotten old enough (47) to buy what I want but am still smart enough to get value. I bought my GT in June and still can't wipe the grin off of my face when I take it out for a spin. I shopped the corvetts before I bought and also looked at the GT500. I'm glad I bought what I did. I didn't have any idea how much you can modify the GT. My three sons just shake there heads everytime I add something to the Stang. ....

See my note today I posted about how the Ford sales people at the Texas State Fair treated me when I asked them to open the hood on a Shelby Mustang Cobra they had on display!

They can offer the Shelby Mustang Cobra to me for invoice and I will tell them to shove it up their a$$!

My $0.02 worth!!
