Now I don't suppose you have plastic covers on your seats now do you? The lamps at home? Do you pull the protective covering of the face's of your electonic equipment?

I think it would be just as tacky to have the sills wrapped up in plastic as it is to have them scratched.

Just buy new ones if they get that bad.

ORIGINAL: wishIhada5.0

I had this idea the other day to take a clear plastic sheet ( like maybe something from 3m) with a sticky back and to remove my door sills and wrap them in it so that when i get in and out if my feet happen to drag on the sills it wont put scuff marks/scratches in the plastic. The kind of clear material im looking for should be thick (like aftermarket dirtbike graphics thick) and have a sticky back. Does anyone know where I can get this kind of material? I hope I gave you guys a good idea with this one!

LOL! Ohhhh, so that's what it's for!

I originally had the parchment colored door sills that came with and matched the interior color, but it was a very light color and scuff marks would show up pretty bad, so I just ordered the black ones and installed those myself, plus it looks better on my car now.

That does look good with the black sills, breaks it up and sets it off.

And yes thats what it is for... even says it in the owners manual, and on the intro cd...lol,

I must say they do help alot, makes it easier for a fat guy like me to get the seat belt!!!

Try using a quality clear vinyl shelf contact paper. It`s cheap and comes in large rolls. I`ve used this as a bug guard on long trips for years on my street rods.

Cool, thanks alot, I originally thought it was a tension strap like you said but this actually makes more sense and is a nice way to hide the seat belt holder!

O and since were talking about door sills.... Heres what I did

I have an '07 and I do not have the strap on the passenger side. Only the driver's side. WTF?
