Custom Dyno Tune. Price? Gains?

Hey guys, I'm in San Diego and I'm looking to just get my car dyno tuned. I'm stocker other than SLP LMs. I'm wondering how much it'll cost and what kind of gains I can expect

The quality of a Dnyo tune over a custom Email tune from a good shop will depend on what mods you have.

If you have no mods, or a common combination of mods, then it's not really worth your time. A tune from a competent tune shop (Brenspeed, Evolution, Bamachips, etc.) will be within 1-2 HP of a Dyno tune. These guys already have hundreds of Dyno hours logged, they know what the tune should be without having to Dnyo your car. Keep in mind that in some cases an Email tune from a Mustang EXPERT might be BETTER than a Dyno tune from an average tuner who doesn't know mustangs particularly well.

On the other hand, if you have an unusual combination of mods that the tuner isn't used to seeing, then a Dnyo tune is beneficial. How much you gain will depend on what your mods are. If you just have an odd brand CAI, we might be talking 2-3 HP more than Email. On the other hand, if you have a major mod like Heads, the Dyno tune might be 20 HP more.

In your case I'd expect 15-20 HP from just the tune-- either an Email from a good shop or a Dyno tune. The axleback exhaust won't be giving you any HP.
