G-Techs, How accurate are they?

RE: G-Techs, How accurate are they?
I have 1 but haven't done any real testing with it. I use it to measure the difference a mod makes sometimes. When I'm at the track, I'm usually too busy with my routine to throw that in as well in the few seconds they give you to stage-in. I also do a lot of data logging. I'll have to check it out some day. I can tell you that as mentioned before there are several factors that aid in its accuracy. Depending on which test is being done, the total weight of vehicle + driver, the road being level and here's the kicker - you can't spin the wheels. It is a great device to check for measured improvement rather than a butt dyno. Our emotions factor in with the butt dyno, like a freshly wased and waxed car is always a little faster. -Joe

Based on my one time at the strip my GTech SS is within 2 tenths of a second accurate, and thats pretty damn accurate. I love it, paid 200 for it new, it does stopping distance, 0-60, 40-70, whatever you want it to do.You do have to have a level stretch of road, which i have, and i use the same spot and get identical results, so i know its consistent.

RE: G-Techs, How accurate are they?
I used my friends a couple months ago, I only went once with it to 60, but I got 5.6.
oh that was before any of my mods.
I feel like now that I am much more familiar with the car, and with my mods, I could get a much better time. I just need to practice my launching! Anyone have any tips on launching? I have a manual btw.
